1978 Uniflite Convertible Sportfisher with twin Cummins 555 (V-8) turbo diesel engines, a single Onan 7.5 KW auxiliary generator, 3 bait tanks, berths for 4, plus plenty of room in the salon for a couple more bags/cots/air mattresses, making the perfect “six pack” boat. The boat has plenty of electronics (radar, chart plotter, auto pilot and more), a windlass (anchor winch) and a flying bridge. The galley is appointed with twin stainless sinks, refrigerator, stove and oven. The head has a sink, toilet and shower.

I have a copy of a marine survey done in 2014, which gave a “fair market value” of $50,000 and an “estimated replacement cost” of $565,000 at that time.

This boat is a fiberglass boat with very little wood to maintain, but is a project/fixer. It needs paint, among other things, but both engines start and run, the tranmissions appear to be functioning normally and with a little work, could be a fantastic, very in-expensive, fishing boat.

This boat was to be my “retirement” project, but Covid forced me to postpone my retirement, so I’m still working and don’t have time to invest in this boat of my dreams.

This boat is currently on a mooring (#A-272) in Newport Harbor. It is located close to the Balboa Pavilion and you can look at it yourself, if you have access to a boat, or, schedule and appointment to see it with me, as I have a dinghy to show the boat.
