44′ EDSON SCHOCK 1956

$65,000

Description

This classic cutter was designed by Edson Schock Jr. and built to very good standards by Chapman Boat Works in Southern California. Originally commissioned as “BARBARENA”, this classic clipper bow cutter was then renamed “LYDIA” under Captain Carl Bowman’s ownership. She was eventually turned in the care of the Maritime Museum Association of San Diego for few years before purchase in 2000 from by current owners and experienced sailors and circumnavigators.

“LYDIA” has been since restored, both structurally (new stem in 2010) and cosmetically; the mast and rigging have been replaced in 2006. She is actively sailed and occasionally raced in the San Francisco Bay Master Mariners annual regatta. She was awarded the June 2012 Stone Cup “Best Restored Yacht” at the MMBA Wooden Boat Show.

“LYDIA” is well cared for and fit for its current service of recreational sailing on San Francisco Bay.
